Scan and Read
Often students with vision impairment would face a situation where a required book or reading material is not available as accessible digital text but only as a hard copy print material. In such situation, scan and read technology can be a saviour.
The easiest way to provide such technology to students is in form of scan and read apps on a smart phone. Envision-AI on Android and IOS devices, Google Lookout app on Android and the Seeing AI app from Microsoft for iOS are three examples of free of cost apps that make smartphone into a scan and read solution.
